A girl’s hair is her favourite thing to complain about- whether it’s brown or blonde, long or short, voluminous and curly, or sleek and straight, women just can’t help wanting their hair to be everything it isn’t and more! It’s not like it’s our fault, Walt Disney has done nothing to subside a young girl’s curiosity with hair, ever since we can remember we’ve been obsessed with locks that tumble down to our shoulders- thick and shiny, from Ariel’s majestically sublime red hair to Pocahontas’s impeccably flawless mane. Without even noticing sometimes, we glare enviously at the women who seem to style and control their hair so effortlessly. There isn’t a more important season than summer to have fresh and nourishing looking hair, let’s face it when London finally showers us with something other than rain we’re bound to appreciate it and show our gratitude by wanting to look our best. Whilst basking in the glorious weather it’s important to be assured that your hair is in the best condition it possibly can be. Sure hair salons advertise endless treatments that are supposed to make your hair as glossy as the heads of hair you see in magazines but there has to be more organic and cost effective methods that work just as well right? Right!

Home hair cures are a thing, home made recipes, natural oils or just changing your diet to implement ways to make your hair healthier do work, below are four of these home hair cures that have been tried and tested, recommended and spoken about endlessly to make your hair grow stronger, healthier and more exuberant. 1. Feed your hair– a healthy scalp means healthy hair fight dandruff by adding five drops of tea tree oil to your shampoo as a booster instead of conditioner. Tea tree oil induces hair growth, moisturises and nourishes dry scalps and helps to get rid of dandruff- a very promising combo.

2. For thicker looking hair– To achieve voluminous hair, mix one egg yolk, a half cup of honey, 2 tsp’s of olive oil, and two avocados- avocados are natural deep conditioners that will tenderly care for your scalp as well as promote growth to your hair. Apply the concoction on to your head for two hours until the mixture become hardened, wash your hair as usual with shampoo and conditioner, a popular hair recipe recommended by many hair treatment experts.

3. Stronger hair– to strengthen your hair make a home made mask using half a banana, 1 egg, 1 tsp of oil and honey, blend these ingredients together and apply on to your hair evenly, leave the mask on your hair for 30-45 minutes. Finally thoroughly rinse out the mixture from your hair with your usual shampoo and conditioner.

4. Change your diet for faster growing hair- Adding protein to your diet, eggs, poultry, or beans will help keep your hair strong and growing. Up your intake of vitamins B-6 and B-12 to get your hair’s growth cycle back in gear. Eat dairy and meat products such as milk, yogurt, and poultry to get those B benefits.
