There’s only one thing possibly greater than New York and that’s New York during Fashion Week! Bold lips, sheer dresses, messy buns and nude faces, these are just some of the styles that were seen during New York Fashion Week, letting us know just what trends we can expect for spring 2015! With NYFW fresh on everyone’s minds, we take a look at which trends will be huge this year straight from the New York runway!
The most anticipated fashion event was it’s usual hustle and bustle of lights, photographers, media, glamour, A-Listers and of course the latest collections presented to the rest of the world through some of the best shows from our favourite American designers, brands and fashion houses. Where fashion’s biggest icons set new trends from beauty looks to outfits all from the cat walk over an eight day extravaganza.
- Headbands are back! Seen on a number of models during the various shows we can expect a lot more fashionable up-do’s and hair pieces.
- Denim, double denim, light denim, dark denim basically all types of denim is big this Spring which is fantastic because of all the excitingly different ways of putting outfits together mixing different colours and shades of our favourite material. An all denim outfit combined with a daringly red pout looks sensational, which brings us on to our next prediction of what trend will be huge this spring.
- A bold lip. All over New York Fashion Week, celebrities, models were spotted with power pouts in brick and berry hues.
- The show’s favoured fun colours in skirts, jackets, shirts and trousers in beautiful pastel colours like dusky pink worn by celebrities such as Jourdan Dunn, Kylie Jenner and Rihanna at a number of shows including Philip Lim and Donna Karan, a feminine yet cheerful colour.
What we really learnt from New York Fashion Week is that it’s time to start adding colour to our wardrobes, updating it with pastels and eye catching colours. Also we can be on trend with our beauty looks by adding a staple bright coloured lipstick in to our bags and going easy with the eye makeup- a flick of eyeliner with a ‘messy’ bun; a trend that most women will be oh so grateful for, not having to style their hair. But in the words of Lauren Hutton ‘fashion is what you’re offered four times a year by designers, and style is what you choose.’ So our advice? Choose wisely.
