Four movies to watch this January

January is the month of new starts, new resolutions, new hobbies and new interests. Luckily for those who are still having trouble deciding what they would like to do more of this year, the box office has released a range of smashing new movies to feast your eyes on. So grab your popcorn, sit back and enjoy and whilst escaping in to a fantasy movie world you may just be enlightened on exactly what it is that you would like to do more of in 2015! Unbroken Based on the real life story of USA Olympian and athlete Louis Zamperini, Unbroken portrays a mans struggle during the American War, his resilience to keep going despite the struggle of being stranded in the middle of the ocean in a raft for forty seven days. In defiance to the pain and loss he faces, Zamperini never loses the will to survive. This inspiring figure is played onscreen by the sensational Irish actor Jack O’Connell who captivates the audience with the rawness of his performance. Rated 15 due to the wicked violence and abuse that is hurled at Zamperini and other American soldiers captured by the Japanese, Unbroken is perfect for those looking for a moving storyline complete with great action. In To The Woods Musical movies are back and it seems as though every A-list actor stars in this huge Disney production, Meryl Streep as the wicked witch, Johnny Depp as the big bad wolf, Chris Pine as Prince Charming and many more best-loved faces appear together onscreen in a way that you have never seen them before. A magical story is told all in witty lyrics and catchy tunes, from the unique larger than life costumes, to the humorous characters In To The Woods combines everybody’s favourite fairytales whilst adding it’s own modern day twist and turns. The Theory of Everything You know a film is a ‘must watch’ when the Academy recognises it and nominates it for an Oscar in five different categories including Best Picture! James Marsh’s biopic about the invincible Stephen Hawking is a story that delves in to the romantic relationship based on the memoir of Hawking’s first wife, Jane. The movie tells the story of the two’s courtship before Hawking’s accident and his rapid physical deterioration. It also gives an insight in to the scientist’s brilliant contributions to theoretical physics. Eddie Redmayne is said to give the performance of his career in this emotionally incredible movie ‘The Theory of Everything.’ Taken 3 Liam Neeson is back for the third time as the man who will go to the ends of the earth for a loved one, using his own special set of skills and giving justice the way he thinks it should be handed. In this latest instalment, ex-covert operative Bryan Mill’s is framed for the murder of his ex-wife. To avoid being taken in to custody by every law enforcement in America, Mills goes on the run and uses his special tactics to catch the real culprits and bring his beloved ex-wife to justice. The same level of action can be expected and worry not Neeson doesn’t disappoint!
